This acrostic poem came to me while I was pondering on my name this week. I was wondering what adjectives would best describe me using the first letters of my name. If you know me, you know my aversion to my first name solely because of the vintage vibe it gives. Literally every Carol I have met are senior citizens and pushing 70’s. One time I was at the doctors, and there was an older woman and myself waiting to be called in. The nurse comes out and says “Carol”, we both stand up. She says “last name P”, we both start walking. She chuckles and says “older Carol”. It was at that point that it dawned how old and traditional my name is. A lot of people think my name is Caroline or Carolina, and when I tell them its “Carol” they just look at me with a poker face lol..My father wanted to name me Kelly Melissa but my mother stuck with Carol.. and here we are. I am thankful for my name because it is unique because of the contrast it presents in that Melissa is more youthful and vibrant while Carol is vintage and traditional AF. I will say I like my name around Christmas time because of the Christmas Carol’s. Anyways, this was a bit of a self indulging post but one my parents will surely appreciate.

To stay on theme, I chose this Riri hit.

My favorite verse is:

You're so amazing

You took the time to figure me out

That's why you take me

Way past the point of turning me on

You 'bout to break me

I swear you got me losing my mind
