Cracked Hourglass

Driver’s seat but your vision is blurred.

No disrespect but you follow the herd.

Heavy on the gas, yet still the same place.

But you know it all, you know your damn pace.

And if I am being honest, it’s very deceiving.

Smiling for the picture, but deep inside grieving.

Life catches up to us, I can promise you this.

Not fear, but regret… is our biggest abyss.

And then you’ll sit there with your cracked hourglass.

Weeping and wailing, how you let time just pass.

Spilled all over you, days, months, years.

And yet not once, did you ever shift the gears.

Whenever I think of time, this song comes to mind for obvious reasons.

“Confusion that never stops

Closing walls and ticking clocks

Gonna come back and take you home

I could not stop that you now know

Singin' come out upon my seas

Cursed missed opportunities

Am I a part of the cure

Or am I part of the disease?”

Is my favorite part of the song.
