Grounding Gaze

Eyes behold a lot of truths

But yours behold much more than that

For a moment your soul and mine are all that exist

Our parallel pocket universe, can you get the gist?

Nothing else matters

In times of distress, your eyes give me rest

Chaos, concern, and confusion can consume me

Yet your eyes remind me to let life just be…

Man of few words, but they carry purpose

My sweet love, you make it so easy to focus

A gift it is— your gracious, grounding gaze.

While there were a couple songs I had in mind to go along with this poem, I picked this one for the following verse:

Yo no te busqué, no

Chocamos en el trayecto

Con tu alma es lo que yo conecto

There are few souls I feel like I can be on the same frequency with, and without a doubt my husband is one of them.
